文字是一種活化石。語言像水一樣可以有幾種不同的型態。當詩被朗讀出來，文字從固態的圖像轉化成聲音，其頻率震盪身體，讓文字記載的內容以「活」的型態顯現出來。汪倩和馬域在《精神及其行為》新書發佈會結合達達式朗讀和像教堂崇拜似的模式，帶領觀眾翻開書中不同的頁數並進行朗讀。隨後把燈關上，把手電筒交給觀眾，讓觀眾自己決定翻到哪一頁，一個接著一個，即時隨機編輯出一個現場這個時空獨一無二的敘述。結合Travis Papa的現場即興音樂和一系列的行為，最後兩人拉起一幅寫著「扔掉書本逛街去」的橫額結束。
隨後兩位作者汪倩和馬域、Travis Papa、為我們選寫了一篇序的詩人池荒懸和Per.Platform聯合創辦人Florence Lam進行了一場分享及問答環節，討論到在場幾位講者對《精神及其行為》的思考、現場藝術紀錄和記憶的模式和可能性、文學與行為藝術之間的關係等等。Florence Lam 著
Book Launch/Happening of “Spirit and Its Actions on 10th August 2024:
Textd is a form of living fossil. Like water, language can take on several different forms. When a poem is read aloud, words are transformed from solid images into sounds, the frequency of which vibrates the body and brings the contents of the words to life. In the book launch of “Spirit and Its Actions”, Wong Sin and Ma Wik combined Dada-style poetry reading with church-like worship, leading the audience to turn the pages of the book and read aloud. The lights were then switched off and the audience was given a torch to decide which page to turn to, one after the other, instantly and randomly editing a narrative that is unique to this very time and place. Combined with Travis Papa‘s live improvised music and a series of live actions, the duo closed with a banner that read ”Throw away your books and walk in the streets“.
The two authors, Wong Sin and Ma Wik, Travis Papa, poet Keith Liu (who wrote a preface for the book) and Florence Lam (co-founder of Per.Platform), then engaged in a sharing and Q&A session, discussing the speakers’ reflections on this project, the different ways and possibilities of documenting and remembering live art, and the relationship between literature and performance art etc.
